Research Consultant at ICUDDR
At the International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR), I reviewed and approved resources, helped manage membership data through coding and data wrangling, and created visual maps to track membership growth. I also designed and ran promotional materials, approved new members, and organized membership tags in our system to support targeted email communications.

Interactive Member Mapping
ICUDDR's Member's List is one of our proudest achievements, I wanted to highlight our wonderful network of members with an interactive map using Looker Studio. Having had previous experience with PowerBI, this was an amazing challenge that also showcased my experience with other tools. Data wrangling and coding in Google Sheets was also a nod to my college education, something I'm very happy to have learned over the years.
Design Process Overview
I had a great time creating the slides in Canva, keeping things clear and easy to follow. For the wireframing, I used Figma, which made it simple to organize my ideas and adjust as I went along. My goal was to keep everything clean and user-friendly, so it feels smooth for everyone using it.

Applications used

Infographics
With Canva as their primary design tool, ICUDDR’s campaigns stand out through bold colors, strong spatial design, and dynamic graphics. I created infographics to reflect the urgency of their mission, their confident global presence, and a clear, approachable layout using easy-to-read icons and texts.
Case Study: Redesigning a University Partnership Platform for Global Users
Problem
My role
Tools
Client: International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR)
Role: UX Research Consultant
Timeline: Dec 2024 – April 2025
Project Type: B2B Platform Redesign + User Segmentation Strategy
ICUDDR serves a diverse network of global universities and researchers working to reduce drug demand. Their member platform was outdated and lacked structured user flows, making it difficult for users to register, subscribe, and engage meaningfully.
I was responsible for auditing the existing user flows, mapping out platform gaps, and creating a user segmentation system to support ICUDDR's upcoming website redesign of their members section. I collaborated directly with WordPress engineers to implement structural changes.
Using Google Sheets, Looker Studio, and insights from stakeholder interviews, I identified key friction points for new members, clarified essential verification data, and prioritized the sections users most frequently sought out.

User flow redesign
Helped redesign the membership application process to reduce redundancy, clarify required fields, and streamline internal review. I also recommended which sections should be made mandatory to support consistent user tagging and improve data accuracy. This ultimately made the application process more efficient and reducing manual workload for the ICUDDR team.

Ensuring specific user information categories were required helped ICUDDR and partner universities accurately track member subscriptions and avoid duplicate records.
Monitored SEO performance to ensure content remained updated and relevant, maintaining strong search rankings for the website.
Worked with engineers to design and implement custom membership categories to organize users by country and affiliation type, enabling targeted email campaigns via MailChimp and personalized conference invitations.
Leveraged built-in analytics tools to analyze user interactions and identify high-traffic sections to prioritize in the site redesign.
Used data-wrangling techniques in Excel to identify and flag duplicates, ensuring all member records were accurately migrated from the previous website with no missing or redundant entries.

Site Hierarchy
Provided strategic recommendations to the ICUDDR board on which website sections to prioritize, such as featuring events on the homepage and elevating access to training exams. Additionally, enhanced the membership directory by personally categorizing universities by country, city, region, program type, and affiliated members, using Looker Studio for accurate visualization and tracking.
Results
Recommended a simplified site structure focused on usability and information clarity, including the addition of more informative Member and Events pages.
Contributed to the development of a robust member tagging framework to enable improved categorization and internal data organization.
Membership registration witnessed a 4.3% increase in university membership and a 6.45% increase in participating countries within 3 months.
Streamlined internal processes for verifying and tracking member institutions, enabling better segmentation and targeted outreach.

Design
Constraints & Tradeoffs
As an exclusive organization with a rigorous vetting process, ICUDDR required a high level of accuracy in its membership review workflow. While we worked with a capable engineering team and were not significantly limited by CMS constraints, it was essential to ensure the new application design supported both thoroughness and efficiency. This meant reorganizing existing fields, identifying which sections should be mandatory for improved user tagging, and eliminating redundant inputs to minimize manual workload and reduce errors in processing applications.
